How do I qualify to come to the United Kingdom to study?
You will need a total of 40 points to be able to apply for a student visa. You will need to provide the evidence needed with your visa
application form.
30 points will be awarded to you for doing a course at an acceptable level with an approved education provider. We will send you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter confirming
the studies you will be doing, with a reference number.
10 points will be awarded to you for having enough money to cover your course fees and living costs. You will need bank statements or a letter confirming that you have enough money to cover your
course fees and living costs for a given period. You must be able to prove that the money has been available in your account for 28 days before you submit you application.

What will i need when applying for a student visa?
You will need to following documents for a Tier 4 (General) student visa:
-Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter from the UK College of Excellence.
-A valid passport.
-Documents that prove your financial ability to pay for your course and living expenses without working or help from public funds.
-Copies of relevant academic qualifications.
-A letter from your employer if you are currently working.
Do I need an English language test?
Yes. You are required to demonstrate your English language proficiency as per the UK Border Agency requirements. UKBA requires students applying
under Tier 4 (General) student visa to be competent in English Language at a minimum of level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for below degree level courses by showing that they have
passed an English language test i.e. IELTS 4.0, Person Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) B1. Those coming to study at degree level will have to speak English at B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
For level B2 on (CEFR) student need IELTS 5.0, or Person Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) B2 or equivalent.
How long will UKCOE take to process my application?
We process most applications within 5 working days. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of sending in your application form,
you should email us at info@ukcoe.co.uk so that we can look into it. Please provide your full name, date of birth, course title and how you sent us your application (by airmail, fax or
email).
When do I get an offer letter?
Your application will be assessed to check your eligibility criteria, which will be based on your English language proficiency, academic
qualifications and legal documentation. However, certain constraints may be taken into consideration. Documents submitted may be verified. You will be shortlisted, and successful applicants will be
entered into our provisional database.
We will inform you of the status of your application within 5 working days.
Successful students will be issued with an offer letter via email or fax. This letter will be sent to you and your agent (if applicable).
When do I get a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies(CAS) letter?
If you decide to go ahead with the offer and pay the fees within the 3-weeks period, you will be issued with a Confirmation of
Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter . This letter will suffice for entry clearance
purposes, so you may apply for your visa at this stage. A copy of the CAS will also be sent to your agent (if applicable).
When can I come to the UK after I obtain my student visa?
You are expected to arrive in the UK two weeks before your course starts and sign in at the UK College of
Excellence as soon as possible. You are advised not to arrive more than 4 weeks before your course start date.
You are also expected to arrive no more than 2 weeks after your course start date; in this event you must inform the UK College of Excellence and provide a valid explanation.
When do I have to sign in at the UK College of Excellence?
You are expected to sign in at UKCOE upon your arrival in the United Kingdom.
How many classes do I have to attend?

Does the UK College of Excellence provide any scholarships?
The UK College of Excellence currently does not offer any scholarships.
Do I have to pay home or overseas student fees?
Students who are from EEA or EU countries are classified as home students, and therefore home students' fees will apply to them. If you come
from a country that is outside the EU or EEA, then you are classified as a overseas student, and therefore overseas students' fees will apply to you.
How do I pay my course fees?
You may pay by banker's/demand draft, cheque, or cash directly into our back account.

Once you have arrived in the UK and completed the enrolment process, we will send an advice note to you outlining course fee structures and fee installment schedules.
You will be responsible for any bank charges incurred as a result of the money being transferred into UKCOE’s bank account.
Will I get a refund if my visa application is refused?
Yes. If your visa application is refused, you will qualify for a refund as long as you inform us with supporting documents. You will get a
refund for all fees paid to the College, less a non-refundable £200 administration fee.
Will I get a refund if I don't turn up after I get my visa?
Overseas students who have applied 6 weeks or less or home students who have applied 2 weeks or less before the course start date
and have accepted the offer letter and paid the fees will not be entitled to any cancellation or refund. The only exceptions allowed will be on the basis of medical grounds or severe ill health.
We will need to see authenticated evidence from a specialist source clearly stating the reason why the student is unable to start their course of studies due to their condition.
The maximum time allowed for notice of cancellation, based on medical grounds/severe ill health will be 2 weeks after the course starts.
Cancellations will be allowed 6 weeks prior to the course start date for overseas students and 2 weeks for home students.
How do I find accommodation?
It is advisable to arrange your own accommodation prior to coming to the UK. However, if necessary we are able to assist you with providing accommodation near the College. If you would like us to arrange this for you, then please notify us in writing, at least 1 month before your arrival to the UK. You will require 1 month’s advance rent (usually non-refundable) and 1 month’s deposit.

How much are the estimated living expenses?
The money you need will include course fees and monthly living costs. The monthly living costs will depend on where you live:

Am I allowed to work in the UK while I am studying at the UK College of Excellence?
If you are in the UK with a student visa, check whether your passport sticker (entry clearance or residence permit) or
identity card states: ‘Restricted work, p/t term time, f/t vacations ‘or ‘Restricted work in term-time’ or ‘Work (and any changes) must be authorised’ or ‘Able to work as authorised by the
Secretary of State’. If either your passport sticker or identity card states any of the above then you are allowed to work.During your stay, you will be allowed to:
-Work part-time (up to 10 hrs per week)
-Work full-time during vacations
-Do a work placement as part of your course
-Work as a postgraduate doctor or dentist (if your course of study is a recognised Foundation Programme ) and
-Be a student union sabbatical officer for up to 2 years.
Do I need to apply for private medical insurance?
Overseas students who are on a course of study lasting 3 months or longer are eligible for free medical treatment under the National Health
Service (NHS). It is recommended that you register with a doctor as soon as possible. We can provide you with details of your nearest health centre. The health centre will need to see evidence of
your enrolment at the College, your student visa, passport and proof of address.
What do I do if I have a complaint?
At UKCOE we take all complaints seriously. If you think you have reasonable grounds for raising a complaint, you should feel free to do
so. You will not be discriminated against for making a complaint. All reasonable complaints will be taken seriously and dealt with according to the agreed procedures. If it is ascertained that a
complaint is not genuine or is trivial, then it will be dismissed and the student will be informed accordingly. Any complaint deemed to have been made maliciously may result in disciplinary action.
All complaints will be dealt with confidence and we expect all parties involved to adhere to this attitude.
Any complaints related to academic results will not be accepted under our complaints policy, but will be dealt with separately under our Academic Appeals policy.
Anonymous complaints will not be investigated by the College (except those fed through the ‘Student complaints’ procedure.)
The Student Welfare Officer is always available to provide additional support to students if required.
How can I meet with the Senior Management Team?
The Student Welfare Officer is always on hand; she/he will do their best to support and guide you.
The Admin Manager will also be available. If any issues arise where the Student Welfare Officer is unable to guide you, matters will be forwarded to the Admin Manger.
You can meet the Chief Executive by pre-arranged appointment, made through the Student Welfare Officer.
